Installation WinAVR
To program AVR board we need a Platform where we can write and compile the code. So, we need a software package that is WinAVR. So, let’s download it from browser
Here is the link to download WinAVR: https://sourceforge.net/projects/winavr/
Step 1:Open WinAVR .exe file “Run as administrator”
Step 2:Then got new window select your language and click on “ok”
Step 3:Got a welcome page click on next
Step 4: Another agreement window will pop-up then press on “I Agree”
Step 5: Then choose install Location here it is default location in this snap and then click on “Next>”
Step 6: Don’t disturb anything here just click on “install” as shown below
Step 7: Have patience!! It will take few mins to install
Step 8: After install just click on Finish button you a WinAVR manual in your default browser open it read the manual and close the browser
Step 9: Lets check its install properly or not Go to start-> Programmers Notepad [WinAVR] you got this icon like below pic
Installtion of libusb
Step L1: Now Insert ATmega8 board to Laptop u got “USB device not recognized”
Now we need a driver software to access ATmega8 board through USBport; That software is libusb-win32

Otherwise go through this link (Installation files) U will get all the installation files which is I already Uploaded.
Step L2: extract the zip file open “libusb-win32-bin” then open “bin” u got “inf-wizard.exe”
run this setup file in “Run as Administrator”
Step L3:Then setup window will pop-up then press next button.
Note: find USBasp in the list if it is not their then reinsert ATmega8 board and reset button of the board. Then do “back” once and then press “next” u will get the “USBasp” As shown below.
Step L4: Then press next
Step L5: Then u got another window where you have to save the “USBasp.inf” just click on save button .
Step L6:Then press Install Now..
Step L7: After installation you will get like below clip then press ok if installation fail then do same by “Run as administrator”
Programming Testing Using Programmers Notepad [WinAVR]
Step P1: Now it’s time to test, what we installed actually its working or not.
So now just click on link u will get the test code .zip file. if u already download it just leave it and then step is Extract the zip file and open main.c file in “Programmers Notepad” go to Tools then Make All
Step P2: Note: If you got this type of error as shown above then open Installation file what I Share with u in above You will find one “msys-1.0.dll” file copy that file and paste it over “C:\WinAVR-20100110\utils\bin” and Replace the file in the destination. As shown below.

Step P3: Then go back to Programmers Notepad and Make All again it will compile successfully.
